He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Eugene and Ellen Eureka Samson (Johnson); his siblings, Don Samson (Charlotte) and Dorothy Jackson (Joe); and his niece Laura Stanislav.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Carlson; his children, Chris Samson (Lisa) of Urbandale, IA, Doug Samson of Durham, NC, Suellen Samson of Indianapolis, IN and Tracy Boddicker of Berryville, VA; his grandchildren, Erin Ramsey (Phillip), Megan Samson, Lauren Samson (Nick Onken), Kaylin Fasig (Ben), Miles Hokanson, Adam Boddicker (Kelly), Austin Boddicker and Annie Boddicker; and his great grandchildren, Larae Ramsey, Beckham Ramsey, Oakley Ramsey, Lillian Boddicker, Addison Boddicker and Oliver Boddicker.
