He was predeceased by: his father Thomas Frederick Johnson; and his sister Hope McGinnis. He is survived by: his mother Lela Jean Johnson (VanMeter); his children, Daniel Paul, JaDee Estelle (Jerome) of Des Moines and Thomas Cole; his wife Debbie Johnson of Grinnell; his sons, Dan Johnson (Tanya Leverette) of Grinnell and Cole Johnson (Nikki) of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Braden Daniel, Alex William, Nora Jeanne, Emma Elizabeth, Liam Paul, Ty Charles and Maya Dee; his sisters, Sherry Roach (Ed) of Kellogg, IA, Susan Goodrich (Pete) of Malcom, IA and Debra Johnson of Grinnell; and his half-brother Bill McGinnis (Robin) of Grinnell.
