It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lynn Jay Kaufman of Grinnell, Iowa, born in Freeman, South Dakota, who passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Kaufman; his brother Lee Randall "Randy" Kaufman; his sister-in-law Georgia Kaufman; and his niece Laura Landis. He is survived by: his mother Lorene Kaufman (Miller-Graber) of Sterling, IL; his wife Betty Kaufman of Grinnell; his children, Jeremiah Hora (Shannon) of University Park, IA, Rachel Nieuwsma (Anthony) of Grinnell, James Kaufman (Chelse) of Grinnell and Jessica Stocker (Derrick) of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Gabriel Hora, Thaddaeus Hora, Benjamin Hora, Natalie Nieuwsma, Lucy Nieuwsma, Oliver Nieuwsma, Milo Nieuwsma and Gracie Kaufman; and his siblings, LeRoy Kaufman of Hurley, SD and Lois Landis (Keith) of Sterling, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sam & Becky Barber, missionaries in Belize or Grinnell Friends Church.
