Lavern Lidtka Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lavern Lidtka of Grinnell, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 25, 2024 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lavern Lidtka to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Truman and Lucille Lidtka (Phipps); and his sisters, Elaine Heishman and Carolyn Hotchkin. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Reida of Grinnell, IA; his children, Randy Lidtka (Janet) of Grinnell, IA and Christy Kriegel (Don) of Malcom, IA; and his grandchildren, Katie Wilmes (Jordan) of Grinnell, IA, Nicolle Miller (Jonathan) of Farmington, Kyle Lidtka (Alli) of Newbury Park, Bryce Lidtka (Brielle) of Ottumwa, IA, Crystal VandeKamp (Wes) of Malcom, IA, April Kubiak (Kyle) of Blairstown, IA, Karl Kriegel (Beth) of Malcom, IA and Neal Kriegel of Malcom, IA. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Madison Church of Christ (3501 140th St, Brooklyn, IA 52211). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sheridan Cemetery (948 320th Ave, Grinnell, IA 50112).
