She was predeceased by: her parents, Dick Baarda and Julia Mae Baarda (De Prenger); her husband Edward J. Huyser of Sully, Iowa.; her siblings, Joyce Huizer, Bruce Baarda and Dean Baarda; her stepfather Leonard Pearce; her daughter-in-law Nanci Huyser; and her parents-in-law, Gerrit, Helen Huyser, Larry Renaud, Vernon and Lucille Huyser.
She is survived by: her son Gordon Huyser (Cynthia) of Whitehouse, TX; her grandson Robbie Croft Huyser (Jessica) of Mobile Alabama; her children, Laura, Titus, Myles, Ivy and Sheryl Sherman (Raymond) of Lake Arrowhead, CA; her grandsons, Curtis Sherman (Debra) of Los Angeles, CA and Michael Sherman (Marika); her great grandchild Benjamin of Santa Monica, CA; her sisters, Lucille Nikkel, Karma Burman (Donald) and Karen Langstraat (Phil); and also, Judith Baarda, Shirley Baarda and Lynda Renaud. She is also survived by many friends, relatives and neighbors as a compassionate wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, neighbor and friend.
Ila Mae was a 26-year survivor of colon cancer and maintained a positive attitude during her 24-year challenge with Parkinson's disease.
