He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Eccles and Kathryn Eccles (Richter); his brother Bobby Lee Eccles; his great grandchild Kennedy; his sister Shirley Wagner (Walt); his siblings-in-law, Nyla Eccles and Stan Johnson; and his son-in-law Allen Coffman.
He is survived by: his former wife Colleen Atherly; his close friend Pam Grundler of Grinnell; his children, Cindy Eccles of Omaha, Denise Coffman of Topeka, Scott Eccles (Julie) of Brooklyn and Chris Grundler (Ashley) of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Nathan Coffman (Andrea), Amanda Merrick (Justin), Justin Coffman, Kim Coleman (Alex) and Claire Grundler; his great grandchildren, Ember, Beau, Tytus, Adelynn, Lane, Ellie, Eden and Jaxton; and his siblings, Norman Eccles (Faye) and Cheryl Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
