He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Stepp and Wanda Hill Stepp; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his wife Bev of Grinnell; his children, Scott Stepp (Missy) of Altoona and Stacy Cook (Scott) of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Jacob Dunsbergen (Jamie) of Grinnell, Dylan Cook of Grinnell and Kelsey Foster (Shane) of Bondurant; his great grandchildren, Maddox and Annistyn Foster of Bondurant; and his sister Fontella Terpstra (Wilbur) of Lynnville.
