He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Kay and Nellie Leon Shook (Van Veen); his sister-in-law Marie Shook; his nephews, Larry and Ron Shook; and his niece Susan Harvey.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline K. Linn of Grinnell; his children, Kevin Kinzebach (Chris Canfield) of Hiawatha, Karen Giesken (Greg) of Ravenwood and Kelly Folkmann (Dave) of Guernsey; his grandchildren, Kassie, Mason and Kadon; his great grandchildren, Harley and Elon; and his brothers, Lon (Joyce) of Grinnell, Gary of Tama, George (Shirley) of Newton and Jeff (Janet) of Mystic.
Memorial contributions may be designated to the Grinnell Volunteer Fire Department.
