She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Asberry and Dora Bridgemond Asberry; her husband George Fortner; her sons, Scott and Billy; and her siblings, Lucille Hiner, Neva Van Gorp, Carson Asberry, William Asberry and Lillian Criswell.
She is survived by: her sons, Danny Lee Fortner of Grinnell and Harold Fortner (Maryann) of Grinnell; and her grandchildren, Todd, Jeremy, Jennifer and Corey Fortner. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
