He is survived by: his daughter Kathryn; his wife Kris Ness of Grinnell; his children, Ryan Ness (Kami) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Katy Krumbholz (Nick) of Sterling and Laura Schultes (Cody) of Ankeny, Iowa; his grandchildren, Connor, Brooke, Greta, Dotty, Megan and Bennett; his siblings, Mike Ness (Mary) of Story City, Kathy Pedersen (Randy) of West Branch and John Ness (Amy) of Waukee, Iowa; and his siblings-in-law, Claudia Gross and Bruce Strum. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
