He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Gerhart and Elsie Mae Richter Steine; his nephew Ryan VanHemert; and his uncles, Lyle and Maynard Steine.
He is survived by: his wife Teina Marie Sager of Grinnell; his children, Teeocka McGrath of Idaho, Sarah Steine (Tom Kinzebach) of Gibson, Aaron Steine of Grinnell and April Steine (Joel Teska) of Arkansas; and his grandchildren, Cayden, Kylee Kinzebach and Gracelynn Teska.
