He was predeceased by: his close friend Saul Johnson. He is survived by: his daughter Cassandra Backer (Donald); his grandchildren, Raelynn and Kenneth Backer; his parents, David Johnson and Jennie Johnson; and his siblings, Dave Conrad of Clive Iowa and Ruby Ripley (Johnny) of Kansas City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
