With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Eugene Sampson of Grimes, Iowa, born in Elgin, Illinois, who passed away on June 29, 2021 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Sampson and Mildred Sampson; his son Jeff; and his brother Lynn Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carole Howard; his children, Greg Sampson (Jill) and Heather Johannsen (Jeff); his grandchildren, Ava Ferguson-Sampson, Madison, Mariah, Jalas and McCoy Johannsen; and his brother Bob Sampson (Sally).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Grimes Storehouse or the Good Samaritan Fund at the Grimes United Methodist Church.
