It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Lee Zimmer (Grimes, Iowa), who passed away on October 10, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Barbara Lee Zimmer to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Margaret Custer (Leffler) and Joseph Custer; her siblings, Dawn Warnert, Jim Custer and Brenda Gordon; and her great grandchild Isaac Overberg.

She is survived by: her husband Don Zimmer; her sons, Brian Zimmer of Des Moines, Robert Zimmer (Cheryl) of Des Moines and David Zimmer (Charity) of Evansville, IN; her sister Kathy McClane of Naples, FL; and her grandchildren, Kelli Overberg (Casey), Katie Eliason (John), Brandon Zimmer, Amanda Cantrell (Michael), Stephanie Galloway (Sean), Amber Zimmer, Leslie Addis, Valarie Barnes and Stefanie Purvis (Jerry). She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to cancer research or to a kidney foundation.
