It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anne Marie Wandrey of Grimes, Iowa, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on March 10, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Huppenbauer and Lillian Louise Huppenbauer (Gallo); her brothers, Walter and Bernard Huppenbauer; and her daughter-in-law Sandra Ries-Wandrey.
She is survived by: her husband John Wandrey; her children, Jack Wandrey (Barb) of Mesa, AZ, Greg Wandrey (Evelyn) of Ankeny, IA, Mike Wandrey (Amy) of Norwalk, IA, Phil Wandrey of Omaha, NE, Carol Squires (Jim Olson) of Cedar Falls, IA, Barb Mendoza (Emilio) of Grimes, IA, Geri Harris (John) of Fort Collins, CO and Lynn Wandrey of Grand Blanc, MI; her niece Michelle Huppenbauer Flores; her nephew Christopher Huppenbauer; her grandchildren, Brad Wandrey, Crystal Walker (Drew), Tim Wandrey (Rachel), Haley Vance (Zach), Claire Silliman (Grant), Joshua Wandrey (Nicole), Jordan Wandrey (Britta), Jessica Meyer (Nate), Kirsten Wandrey, Nicole Wandrey, Rachel Wandrey, Katie Lashier (Jackson), Adam Squires (Ali), Matthew Squires (Emma), Isaac Squires (Marilin Rodriguez), Tessa Mendoza and Isabel Mendoza; and her great grandchildren, Graham, Adela Walker, Colette Wandrey, Eleanor Vance, Jackson, Colton Wandrey, Addison Meyer, Ella, Hadley Squires and Baby Vance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anne's honor may be directed to Mount St. Francis in Dubuque or Center for Social Ministry or St. Pius X Catholic Church.
