It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Swoyer of Greenfield, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 96, on January 1, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Dean Swoyer; her son Tom; her brothers, Willard and Eldon Fain; and her aunt Alice Wildman.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary, Kelly, Alexandria, Brett, Jillian, Matthew and Jacob; her great grandchildren, Hadley, Reese, Dean, Reid, Eloise, Ryann, Ivy and Fiona; her children, Don Swoyer (Vicki) of Fulshear, Texas, Randy Swoyer (Margie) of Dallas, Texas and Sandy Bredensteiner (Scott) of Pflugerville, Texas; her daughter-in-law Jean Shugart (Jeff) of Johnston, Iowa.; and her siblings, Gerald Fain of Waterloo, Larry Fain of New Hampton, Willie Fain of Nevada and Camilla Glidewell of Waterloo. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Greenfield United Methodist Church (108 SW 5th St, Greenfield, IA 50849). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Greenfield Cemetery (2493 IA-25, Greenfield, IA 50849).
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shirley Swoyer Memorial Fund for the betterment of the Greenfield Community.
