She was predeceased by: her parents, Avery Stephenson and Erma Stephenson (Marsh); her brothers, Max and Rex Stephenson; her half-brothers, Earl, Ross and Cecil Stephenson; her brother-in-law Carson Griffith; and her nephews, Ronald and Alan Stephenson.

She is survived by: her husband Donald Lents; her children, Ralph Lents of Menlo, Dale Lents (Evonne) of Winterset, Wayne Lents (Ginny) of Creston and Cathy Lents of Des Moines; her sister Betty Griffith (Jack Lint) of Rippey, Iowa; and her siblings-in-law, Marilyn Stephenson of Adair, Martha Stephenson of Anita, Irene Westphal, Jim and Betty Lents of Greenfield. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to Marie Lents memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.
