He was predeceased by: his parents, Klaus Mehmen and Grace Mehmen (Arenholz); his wife Eula Mehmen (Kramer); his daughter Jolene Edwards; his granddaughter Kristin Edwards-Malek; and his siblings, Ralph Mehmen, Koert Miller, Hank Mehmen, Raymond Mehmen and Carrie Gambaiani.
He is survived by: his daughter Diane Grant (Michael) of Mason City; his son-in-law Dennis Edwards of Canton; his granddaughters, Julie Lubbert (Jamie) of Canton, Jenna Akers (Dave Beisch) of Algona and Jessica Rye (Andy) of Mason City; and his great grandchildren, Noah Hagemeister (Sierra Nelson), Reed Schneider, Luke Schneider, Collin Lubbert (Alex), Taylor Lubbert, Jason Rye, Aspen Rye, Mason Akers and Kayla Akers. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
