It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Duane Laverne Smith of Greene, Iowa, who passed away on July 23, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Laverne and Lula Margarette Smith (Elliott); his wife Twila; his siblings, Dorlene Miller and Robert Smith; his granddaughters, Joy Marie Baker, Heather Joy Miller and Libby Smith; and his great great grandchild Jace Mooney.

He is survived by: his children, Christine Baker, Melinda Smith, Becky Shultz (Jerry), Cathy Marzen (Jerome) of Rodgersvill, MO, David Smith and Scott Smith (Pat); his siblings-in-law, Margaret Smith and Kenny Miller; and also Twila. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Greene Volunteer Fire Department or St. Croix Hospice.
