He is survived by: his wife Diane Bates of Grant, IA; his daughters, Debra James of Dallas, TX and Dana Bates (Charlie Carson) of Scottsdale, AZ; his grandchildren, Chaz, Dylan and Jack Carson of Scottsdale, AZ; and his siblings, Barb Schroeder (Ron) of Lyman, IA, James Bates (Sandy) of Stanton, IA and Joanne Vogliardo (Mike) of Polk City, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
