He was predeceased by: his parents, George Crosthwaite and Dorothy Crosthwaite (Dosland); his wife Sandra Kay Hahn; his brother Ronald Crosthwaite; his brother-in-law Dennis Barr; his nephew David Barr; his niece Kris Manning; his mother-in-law Joyce Hahn; and his stepfather-in-law Vic Bartling.

He is survived by: his children, Vicki Crosthwaite of Lewes, Debbie Feeney (Chris) of Davenport, Roxanne McElroy (Larry) of Camanche, Kevin Crosthwaite (Darla) of West Branch and Kurt Crosthwaite (Tammy) of Grand Mound; his grandchildren, Morgan Wolfe (Nick), Noah Crosthwaite (Aubree), Mitchell, Emily McElroy and Cole Crosthwaite; his great grandchild Brooks Wolfe; his siblings, Ardith Barr and Roger Crosthwaite; and his parents-in-law, Tom Hahn (Shirley), Karen Steffen (Jim), Rollie Hahn (Sandy) and Jo Kelly (Larry).

Memorials may be made to the Grand Mound Fire Department, and the Grand Mound Community Center.
