He is survived by: his wife Patricia Emmons of Graettinger, Iowa; his son Charlie Thiel, II of Graettinger, Iowa; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Petersen of Graettinger, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
