She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Carlson and Elda Carlson (Nahnsen); her husband Ed McFarland; her sisters, Connie Coil and Betty Peterson; and her siblings-in-law, Dean Coil, Darwin Peterson and Patricia Carlson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Scarano of Caldwell and Jamie Christenson (Robin) of Lakewood, California; her granddaughters, Rachel Christenson of San Francisco and Katoya Smith of Nissa, Oregon; her siblings, Toby DeSmidt (Bob) of Sioux City, Jim Carlson (Marcia) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tom Carlson (Nadya) of Ocala, Florida and Sandy Mitchell (Morris) of Parachute, Colorado; and her sister-in-law Vickie Toms of Lake View, Iowa. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
