He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Schmidt and Flora Schmidt (Latscha); his wife Diana Mae Bird; and his brothers, Allan and Ronald.
He is survived by: his daughter Theresa Schmidt of Goldfield; his siblings, Joanne Corey and Dale Schmidt (Deb); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Schmidt, Linda Schmidt, Janet Kline, Ron, Mike and Alan Bird (Susan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
