He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Canine (Perkins) and Elvin F. Canine; his siblings, Wayne, Merwin and Marjorie; and his daughter Cathy Riggs (Carroll).

He is survived by: his sons, Craig (Myla Sherburne) of Eastsound, WA and Steve (Kate Breen) of Piedmont, CA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
