He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Soyer and Eleanora Soyer (Prebeck); his parents-in-law, George and Lois Slocum; his brother Lynn Soyer; and his nephews, Jeff Soyer, Jessie and Joey Soyer.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Slocum; his children, Scott Soyer of Spencer, IA and Joni DeVries (Bart) of Des Moines; his grandsons, Alex DeVries (Jami) of Des Moines, Nick DeVries (Becca) of Des Moines and Ben DeVires of Des Moines; his great grandchildren, Norah, Ayrton and Jolene; his siblings, Judy Blessington of Des Moines, Rose Quinlan (Jim Spooner) of Lakeland, FL, Lynda Humlicek (Tim) of Ames, Larry Soyer (Elaine) of Glidden and Tom Soyer (Shelley) of Glidden; and his sister-in-law LaVonne Rees of Tacoma, WA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
