He is survived by: his wife Sheri Wolfe; his children, Ryan, Meg Schon (Williams) of Ankeny, Jared, Jill Schon (Kemper) of Carroll, Jami, Joe Subbert of Glidden, Keri and Brian Bauer of Willey; his grandchildren, Dani, Andrew, Jacob, Emily, Kenzie, Kayden, Addison, Jaelyn, Jenna, Jayci, Jaxton, Hayden and Olivia; his siblings, Dale Schon (Lori) of Willey, Mark Schon (Jolene) of Cedar Rapids, Jeff Schon (Melanie) of Glidden, Joey Schon (Monica) of Glidden, Mary Schon of Carroll, Shirley Angrick (Andre) of Glidden and Jeanie Pletchette (John) of Altoona; his siblings-in-law, Rex Knudsen of Carroll, Jason Wolfe of Minnesota and Keri Guess (Ron) of Jefferson; and also, Ryan Schon, Jared Schon, Jami Subbert and Keri Bauer.
Over the course of the years, he served his community in many ways through the city council for 2 years, volunteered and donated to the Habitat for Humanity, participated on school committees and was a leader in his church.
