He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Ashley Primrose and Virginia Dell Primrose (Chamberlain).

As a result of being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he became a resident of Little Flower Haven Nursing Home, Earling, IA in 2019, and in 2020, moved to Atlantic Specialty Care Center, Atlantic, IA.
