He was predeceased by: his parents, Len Sell and Blanche Sell; his wife Joan Burchett; his siblings, Wilma Jens (Ervin), Don Sell (Bernice), Leonard (Tip), Glen Sell (Jean) and Lawrence Sell (Doris); and his brothers-in-law, Ervin Jens, Clint Goos and Gene Kennedy.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Sell (Heidi) of Omaha, Suzie Lemonds (Neal) of Omaha and Larry Sell of Marshalltown, Iowa.; and his sisters, Dorothy Kennedy of Des Moines and Betty Goos of Council Bluffs. He is also survived by three children, nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be direct to First Congregational U.C.C. in Glenwood, Iowa.
