Leon Wendt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Wendt of Glenwood, Iowa, born in Ashland, Nebraska, who passed away on November 9, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Wendt and Frank Wendt; his son Gregory Wendt; his brother Kenneth; his sister-in-law Betty Wendt; his sister Ardis; his brother-in-law Jack Nash; his son-in-law Michael Novak; and his stepson Gregory Reisner.
He is survived by: his former wife Violet Wendt; his wife Doris Reisner; his stepchildren, Greg, Karen and Ron; his daughters, Lana Novak, Debra Kistler (Bill) and Brenda Beier (Alfred); his grandchildren, Bailey Novak, Zach Willett, Chase Beier (Brittany) and Blake Beier (Liz); his great grandchildren, Blaine Willett and Jackson Beier; his stepdaughters, Kate Scopac and Sherri Bomer-Brown (Dale); and his siblings, Keith Wendt (Joan) and Beverly Santman (Dale). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 the family will be having a private funeral on Friday, November 13, 2020 with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or Harvey T. Rimel American Legion Post 141.
