He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard C. Dean and Marguerite Dean (Savage); and his daughter Martha Winum. He is survived by: his wife Carol Copland of Los Angeles; his sons, Jeff (Joan Dean) of Pacific Junction and Grant (Kate Dean) of Glenwood; and his son-in-law Larry (Terri Winum) of Glenwood. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.
