He was predeceased by: his parents, LeVern Albert and Norma Lea Schoening (Heiman). He is survived by: his children, Aaron Schoening (Tracy) of Neola, IA and Michelle Zanders (Dillon) of Malvern, IA; his grandchildren, Stella and Saylor; his close friend Chris Androy of Malvern, IA; and his siblings, Cindy Rinderer (Jeff) of Salina, KS, Nancy Lipes (Jim) of Glenwood, David Schoening (Linda) of Silver City and LaDonna Coover (Jon) of Council Bluffs, IA.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Mills County 4-H Foundation.
