He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Malcom and Harriet Malcom; his siblings, Larry Malcom and Barbara Malcom Okerbloom (John Okerbloom); and his nephew Nathan.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Thomas Malcom of Glenwood; his children, Teresa Needham (Lloyd), Michael Malcom (Lori), David Malcom (Carol), Stephen Malcom, Ken Cousins and Mary Halstead (Mark); and his brother Roger Malcom (Penny). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Peterson Mortuary (212 S Locust St, Glenwood, IA 51534). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
