He is survived by: his wife Arlene Arp; his children, Carol Aldrich (Dean) of Green Mountain, Carma Sturtz (Stan) of Newton, Michael Horstmann (Erika) and Cindy Gibbs (Casey) of Grinnell; his grandchildren, Andrew Aldrich (Lindsay), Austin Aldrich (Tempestt), Mallory Shipley (Jack), Chandler Sturtz, Garrett Sturtz, Raymond Horstmann, Sheila Horstmann, Cody Gibbs (Carli) and Cally Gibbs; his great grandchildren, Ander Aldrich, Julian and Ruby Shipley; and his sister Irmgard Kadner of Conrad.
