He is survived by: his fiancé Kay Gould; his wife Kay Tharp of Grinnell; his sons, Jeffrey Tharp (Teresa) of Alva, Phillip Tharp (Stacy) of Clive, Iowa and Bradley Tharp of Mason City, Iowa; his granddaughters, Andrea Lebrun (Brad), Lindsey Grys (Steve), Elise Tharp and Chloe Tharp; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Evelyn, Sophia, Isaac Lebrun, Xander and Miles Grys; his stepgrandsons, David and Travis Hobson; and his siblings, Roger Tharp (Myrtle) of Princeton and Joyce Estal of Oskaloosa, Iowa..
