He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Phillips and Mary C. Lutgen Phillips; his wife Denise Ritchie; and his sister Peg Weber. He is survived by: his daughter Tami Gawtry (Josh) of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Olivia and Trice Gawtry; and his siblings, Paulette Schmitz (Pat) of Dardanelle, Ark (Kim Youngblut), Jim Phillips (Darlene) of Jesup and Ron Phillips (Velda) of Waterloo.
