He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis W. Schmitz and Bernice Elizabeth Schmitz (Delagardelle); and his brother Mike Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Linda Schmitz; his children, Andrea McMahon (B. J.) and Brad Schmitz (Ashley McCool); his grandchildren, Evan McMahon, Shay Foulk (Hannah), Josef, Mack, Amelia and Nash Schmitz; his great grandchild Clara Foulk; his siblings, Pat Schmitz (Paulette) of Delaware, AR, Joe Schmitz of Gilbertville, Bob Schmitz of Brooklyn, IA, Margaret Falk (Charlie) of Blue Springs, MO and Mary Sue Murray (John) of Osage, IA; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Schmitz.
Memorials will be directed to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville.
