We are sad to announce that on July 8, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Lester Schares of Gilbertville, Iowa, born in Waterloo, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schares and Mary S. Welter Schares; his wife Phyllis Jean Frost; his daughter Lori; his brothers, Norman, Earl, Ronnie, Marvin and Elmer; and his siblings-in-law, Karen, Lois and Gene Hestness.

He is survived by: his daughter Jodi (Josh Menke); his grandchild Raelynn of Algonquin, Illinois; his close friend Margaret Ihde; his siblings, Henry Schares (Dee) of Washburn, Marcie McCardle of Independence and Marie Hestness of Mason City; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy and Elaine Schares.

Memorials may be directed to Immaculate Conception Church, Bosco School System, or St. Jude Hospital.
