He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rottinghaus and Ella Dittmer Rottinghaus; his sons, David and Larry Rottinghaus; and his siblings, Firmin, Gilbert, Robert, Roderick Rottinghaus, Alice Rottinghaus and Mercedes Schrier.
He is survived by: his wife Collette Etringer; his children, Ron (Lorri), Mark (Kim) of Waterloo, Bill (Denise Maas) of Waterloo, Sue Reiter (Steve) of Waterloo and Peggy Rometo (Bobby) of Los Angeles, Calif; and his sister-in-law Doris Rottinghaus of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
