He was predeceased by: his parents, William Long and Maxine Long (Malliet); and his sister Patti McDonald. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ringgenberg of Gilbert; his children, Lauri Werner (Brian) of Gilbert, Kory, Dustin and Deven; his grandchildren, Bailey, James, Noah, Liam, Dominic, Drake, Boris and Vlad; his daughter Heidi Long of Ames; his grandchild Lexis; his children, Ren Long (Melinda) of Ames and Kellie; his grandchildren, Carmen, Grady and Keegan; his brothers, Mike Long (Becky) of Ankeny and Gary Long (Deb) of Ames; his brother-in-law Mike McDonald of California; and his aunt June Malliet of Des Moines.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gilbert Community Center (105 SE 2nd St, Gilbert, IA 50105).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Isreal Family Hospice House or the Gilbert Historical Society.
