It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary J. Dawson of Gilbert, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on June 23, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Bob Dawson; her children, Margo Dawson and Rick Dawson; her parents, Harold Lasell and Marjorie Lasell; her grandmother Gertrude Ulsh (Nani); her brothers, Don Lasell, Bill Lasell and Dick Lasell; and her nephew William Lasell.
She is survived by: her friend Mary; her children, Bob Dawson (Jane), Mike Dawson (Diane) and Pat Hammond (Gene); her grandchildren, Kathryn Dawson, Lindsey Dawson, William Dawson (Erica) and Haley Hammond; and her great grandchildren, Edith Dawson, George Dawson, Peter Dawson and Ava Dawson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Senior Care Activities (Story County Senior Care, 630 6th Street, Nevada, Iowa) or the Nevada Public Library.
