With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Edward Cooper of Gibson, Iowa, born in Thornburg, Iowa, who passed away on May 20, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Cooper and Corinne Moore Cooper; and his sister Shirlee Rathbun. He is survived by: his wife Rose Tanke; his daughter Cassie Cooper (Emily) of Des Moines; his sisters, Wilene Cornelius (Pierce) of Tucson, AZ and Gwen Hall of Las Vegas, NV.; and his nieces and nephews, Doug Rathbun (Janel), Kellee Rathbun, Neal Rathbun, Cindy Naffziger (Charlie), Frank Cornelius and Brett Hall (Yebir).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion in Barnes City.
