He is survived by: his spouse Hiekalena Harms (Arends); his children, LaDonna Schmith of Boyden, IA and Gerald Harms (Patricia) of George, IA; and his grandchildren, Ron Schmith (Marla), Ricky Schmith (Sandy), Randy Schmith (Janet), Lisa Vanderpol (Gary), Ryan Schmith (Britney), Roger Schmith (Shayla Van Meeeren), Teresa Harms, Debbie Kock (Bill) and Wendy Woelber (Doug). He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren; 22 great-greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
