With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald Smith of George, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 20, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Smith and Mae Smith (Veenker); his son-in-law Robert "Bob" Newton, Jr.; his siblings, Roger Smith (Marilyn), Muriel Grooters (Kenneth), Norman Smith (Janice), Jerry Smith, Eleanor Smith and Charles Smith; his brothers-in-law, Harlyn Stubbe and Roger Stubbe; his nephews, Curtis Smith and Michael Smith; and his niece Laura Stubbe.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Ann Stubbe of George, IA; his children, Mary Rowden (Wesley) of Sioux City, IA, Ruth Smith of George, IA and Randy Smith (Lenda) of Monkey Island, OK; his granddaughters, Kathryn Rowden of Sioux City, IA and Erica Smith of Hutto, TX; his great grandchild Elizabeth Rowden-Harstad of Sioux City, IA; his sisters, Audrey Grooters (Norman) of Vancouver, WA and Carol Schrick (Judson) of Decorah, IA; and his sisters-in-law, Elvie Smith, Marlene Stubbe of George, IA and Joyce Hartley (Stephen) of Little Canada, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Homes - George (300 E Dakota Ave, George, IA 51237). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church (300 E Iowa Ave, George, IA 51237).
