He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie (Fiihr) and Chester Shaffer; his great grandchild Henry Shaffer; and his siblings, Leroy, Vergamae and Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Geerdes; and his children, Douglas (Janet) of George, Dwight (Gladys) of George, Deanna Pederson of George, Danny Shaffer of Sheldon and Denise Shaffer of Rushmore, MN.. He is also survived by Nine Grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.
