He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lewis Rust and Viola Marie Bruns; and his stepfather Reldon Severson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Rust of Columbus Junction; his children, Paul Rust (Mindy) of Olathe, KS and Sarah Roose (James) of Columbus Junction; his grandchildren, Rebecca Wiebel, Christina Wiebel, Kylee Rust, Preston Rust, Noah Rust, Austin Roose, Jonah Rust and Collin Roose; and his brothers, Mryon Severson (Phyllis) of Alaska and Larry Severson (Jodi) of Alaska.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Rusty.
