He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Vernon and Dorothy Jean Newton (Powell). He is survived by: his wife Ruth Smith of George, IA; his sister Lori Garber of St. Joseph, MO; his uncle Aaron "Bud" Powell of St. Joseph, MO; his nieces, Kelly, Tracy and Delaney; his nephew Chris; his parents-in-law, Ronald and Bonnie Smith of George, IA; his sister-in-law Mary (Wesley Rowden); his niece Kathryn "Katie" Rowden; his great-niece Elizabeth Rowden-Harstad of Sioux City, IA; his brother-in-law Randy (Lenda Smith); and his niece Erica Smith of Hutto, TX. He is also survived by 7 great nieces, many friends, neighbors.
