It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alfred Korthals of George, Iowa, who passed away on March 29, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Korthals and Ida Korthals (DeWeerd); his wives, Melba Schmidt and Carolyn L. Jamieson; his son-in-law William "Zeke" Nieuwendorp; his grandsons, Lance and Lonnie Korthals; and his siblings, Henrietta, Jeanette, Gertrude, John, Marion, Edward, Harold, Leonard, Leona, Albert, Edith and Ronald.
He is survived by: his children, Margery Nieuwendorp of Sheldon, IA, Patricia Berge (Harold) of Seatle, WA and Gary Korthals (Lori) of George, IA; and his sister-in-law Floy Korthals of George, IA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandson with another great-great grandchild.
