He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Englin and Rosetta Englin (Carlson); his stepmother Emma Rempel (Frank); his parents-in-law, Gloyd and Lena Wellman (Kintzi); his siblings, Marvin Englin (Joni) and Elvona Aden (Ray); his brother-in-law LeRoy Wellman (Maria); his grandson-in-law Greg McFarland; and his nephews, Richard Wellman and Greg Wellman.
He is survived by: his former wife Joyce Lorayne Wellman; his wife Joy of Emmetsburg, IA; his children, Rosetta Thron (Randall) of Melbourne, FL, Gene Englin (Pam), Gary Englin (Marlene), Lynelle Hansen (Mark), Eileen Madsen (Mike), Garner and John Englin (Kaye); his grandchildren, Todd Anderson (Candace), Jill McFarland-Packard (Steve), Phillip Thron (Jen), Nicholas Thron (Stephanie), Jeff Englin (Alice), Dan Englin (Heather), Mike Englin (Heather), Stef Stenberg (John), Julie Collins (Ivan), Owen Englin (Erin), Tony Englin (Stacie), Jim Englin (Chanda), Joy Schreiber (Mark), Eric Hansen (Rosie), David Hansen (Tammy), Emily Seo (Minsoo), Bethany Hythecker (Eric), Steven Madsen (Abby), Katelyn Nicholson (Jeremy), Megan Janssen (Justin) and Jake Englin; his sister Merlie Kluver (Dennis); and his siblings-in-law, Leon Wellman (Marion), Chuck Wellman (Alice), Gloyd, Jr. Wellman (Roxanne) and Phyllis Peters (Harry). He is also survived by fifty-nine great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid 19, a private family funeral service for the descendants of Swede and Joy will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner, with Rev. Scott Kozisek officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later charitable distribution.
