He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Swanson (Greiman) and Carl Swanson; his son Monte; his siblings, Norman and Marcelle; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Jane Swanson, Deanna Swanson, Tillie Kuch and Ray Linquist.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene of Garner; his son Rodney Swanson (Sharon) of Forest City; his daughter-in-law Jody Swanson of Forest City; his brother Eugene Swanson of Orange Park, FL; his siblings-in-law, Pearl Swanson of Blooming Prairie, MN and Donald Kuch of Cleveland, OH; his grandchildren, Angela DeWaard (Tim), Alison Bailey (Nick), Matthew Swanson (Jenna), Shane Swanson (Danya), Rachael Branstad (Jordan), Ashley Lunning (Chad), Tom and Samuel Swanson; his great grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, Ryan, Kelsey, Trayce, Teryn, Tristyn, Tucker, Brayden, Kaylee, Emeryson, Bristol, Finley, Nova and Kamden; and also Shane.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Babe Swanson memorial fund in care of the family.
